About PasteIndex

Privacy-first text sharing for creators, developers, and everyday users

What is PasteIndex?

PasteIndex is a lightweight, privacy-focused text sharing platform designed for creators, developers, and casual users who need a fast, secure way to publish and share temporary content online. Whether you're dropping a quick note, organizing reference links, sharing a list of resources with colleagues, or securely transmitting sensitive information like API keys or passwords, PasteIndex gives you the tools to do so quickly and anonymously.

Unlike traditional paste tools that store your data in plaintext on remote servers, PasteIndex encrypts your content directly in your browser using industry-standard AES-256-GCM encryption. This means that even we cannot read the content you share — only the person with the decryption key can access it.

Our Mission

We started PasteIndex because we believe that sharing text online should be simple, fast, and private by default. In an era where data breaches are commonplace and AI systems are scraping the open web for training data, we felt it was important to build a tool that puts users in full control of their content. Our mission is to provide the most accessible, privacy-respecting text sharing experience on the web — no sign-ups, no tracking, no data harvesting.

Our Core Values

How It Works

PasteIndex works differently from most paste tools. Instead of storing your data on a server, your content is encoded directly into the shareable URL. When you add password protection, the content is encrypted in your browser before the link is generated. The encryption key (your password) never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

You can also set auto-expiry dates on your pastes — ranging from 1 day to 30 days — ensuring that your shared content doesn't linger on the internet indefinitely. Once a paste expires, the data is no longer accessible, providing an additional layer of security.
